It's about relief, isn't it? It's about soothing anxieties and old wounds, lifting spirits out of the pits, mending faulty thinking, and replacing unwanted behaviors with desireable ones. In other words, therapy is about you becoming more of who you want to be. As your therapy unfolds, almost without noticing it you'll pick up new life-enhancing habits, new ways of thinking about and being in the world... all designed to make you happier for the rest of your life. You already know it's smart to take good care of your body; maybe it's also smart to take good care of your mind? Your new life is waiting, are you in? Call me.

A Solution Focused Psychologist

Discover therapy the way it was meant to be. Gentle. Supportive. Effective. We'll use state-of-the-art techniques to help you mend... and go on to create more of the life you want. Solution-focused therapy is designed to give you relief, and the improvements you seek, as quickly as possible, with the least amount of fuss. After all, you're busy. And you'll have a new life you want to get on with. I intentionally keep my practice small, allowing me to give you the personal attention you deserve and need for meaningful progress.

We'll typically begin by describing your trouble, how it works, and what you want instead. With your unique circumstances in mind, we'll carefully create and implement step-by-step solutions designed to take you to the new life you want.

As a therapist for more than 36 years, I've experienced, first-hand, how to help clients see their way through difficulties to more of the life they want. We have fashioned real-life solutions for all sorts of challenges emerging from:

  • Stress, Anxiety, and Worry
  • Depression and feeling down
  • Emotional and Sexual abuse
  • Poor Self-esteem
  • Marriage and Relationship Issues
  • Phobias, Obsessions, and PTSD
  • Life Transitions
  • and more...anxiety, worry, depression, poor self-esteem, feeling down, marriage counseling, relationship help, life transitions, phobias, and stress relief.

Psychotherapy in Monrovia, just East of Urbana

I recently retired, so no longer offer therapy/life-coaching for adult individuals and couples. We meet by appointment in my home office, on a residential street just East of Urbana, in Monrovia, Maryland. Appointments are available during the day and evening, Monday through Thursday. A typical session lasts about 45 minutes. Parking is nearby, either on the street or in the driveway, only a few steps from the door to our meeting room. Busy schedule? Interested in enhanced privacy? Skype and FaceTime sessions are also available.

I ask to be paid at the end of each session and provide receipts you can use if you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance carrier. I am a licensed Maryland Psychologist. That means most insurance companies will reimburse for my psychotherapy services at some rate, for some number of visits. If you plan to use your insurance, it's a good idea to check your carrier's reimbursement schedule for out-of-network providers before you begin therapy.

The sooner we begin, the sooner you can start feeling and doing better. Why not start right now? Call or email me. We can discuss some of the things you would like to get for yourself from therapy. And of course I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. If we decide it's a good idea, we can set up a time for your first visit.
